 FOOD SERVICE ASSOCIATES - CASUAL ROLES - 6 POSITIONS 

We are looking for enthusiastic casual Food Service Associates to work at our DHB site in Whanganui. Hours of work are casual (as and when the business needs require).

You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service during meal and beverage service to our patients. You will be taking the patients orders and explaining our menu to them, so the ability to speak clearly and articulate whilst showing empathy is essential!

Will be caring, hardworking, with an outgoing personality, Will have excellent communication skills and fluency in English is a must, as is the ability to work with technology (tablet), Must be a team player and able to work autonomously, Must be physically fit, Will be resilient and be able to thrive working in an extremely busy Hospital environment, Will most importantly demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.

COOKS ! 3 POSITIONS !

We are looking for enthusiastic Cooks to work at Whanganui Hospital. Hours of work are casual, on an as and when required basis.

In this position you will be responsible for preparing and cooking of the meals for the hospital kitchen, this includes vegetarian and vegan meals, along with salads and excellent sandwich and roll production. You will be using fresh and seasonal produce each day, following recipes, being creative and using your flair and imagination! In addition to this you will be assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.

If you're our perfect candidate you will be a team player, passionate about food and have excellent time management skills. You will have outstanding customer service and be flexible, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. Having the ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook/Chef. Ideally you will have previous experience working in a café environment and hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167). You will be a pro at Health & Safety, but, most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.

KITCHEN ASSISTANTS

Basic food preparation, washing dishes, tray line service as well as assisting in general kitchen and cleaning duties
